Successful Poultry Farms

Since many of our budding entrepreneurs have grown up in villages they naturally have some experience with agriculture and many of our requests fall in that category.  Very quickly we saw that poultry farms had the opportunity to realize a nice return on investment and provide a good family income.  Since 2008 we have funded the startup of several new farms.  Typically the initial size of the poultry stock would be around 1,000 chicks and focused on broilers.  Chicks are purchased at one day old and are ready for sale after six weeks.  Before long we learned about layers (eggs) and found that to be lucrative as well.  One of the benefits of our work has been the collaboration among our entrepreneurs as they share best practices.  Our team has been instrumental in helping set up accounting structures and cost controls.  Below are some of our entrepreneurs and the size of their farms:
